HTS kidnaps 13 persons, including 6 Kurds, in Syria’s Afrin

Since two days, the Security Forces of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham launched a campaign of arrests against IDPs from Eastern Ghouta, activists who reject their control over the occupied city of Afrin, in addition to persons who cooperat with the so-called “National Army” militias.

Our reporter indicated that the security forces of HTS began the campaign in the vicinity of Al-Karama School, “Azadi” Square and Al-Villat Street, and arrested 7 IDPs, three of them from Eastern Ghouta, and took them to an unknown destination.

A day after the HTS took control of the city of Afrin, 6 persons loyal to the “National Army” militia were arrested in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood, and they were transferred to Idlib governorate, without knowing the charges against them, and their fate is still unknown.

Our reporter explained that the IDPs loyal to the “National Army” militia are living in a state of instability and fear, as a result of the campaign launched by the Forces of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham against those who reject its control, especially those who have posts on social media against it.

It is worth mentioning that the “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” organization, with the support of the “Al-Hamza Division and Sultan Suleiman Shah” militia, took control of the occupied region of Afrin after four days of battles against the militias of the Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya/ the Third Legion and Jaysh al-Islam, during which resulted in dozens of dead and wounded on both sides and ended with a ceasefire on the outskirts of The occupied city of Azaz.
