The Turkish-backed “Al-Waqas Brigade” militia set fire to the forests located on the mountain overlooking the village of Hammam, and the fires are still burning for the third day in a row.

The forests start from the vicinity of the village of Hammam al-Hawdi and reach the village of Marwaniya al-Tahtani, over an area of 6 km and a width of 2 km.

On the other hand, the aforementioned militia had logged 203 olive trees in the Bayraqdar area near the village of Ashkan al-Gharbi in Jindires district, on September 26, 2022, with electric saws and uprooted their trunks from the ground after they had completely looted and harvested their crop.

183 of the logged trees are owned by the forcibly displaced citizen “Bahri Juma’a Kadro” from the village of Kafr Safra, while 20 trees are owned by the two brothers “Hassan and Hussein Mahmoud Khalaf”, who are from the Arab component of the village of Kafr Safra.
