“Al-Shamiya” leader prohibits people in Maryamin from harvesting olive crop

A leader in the Turkish-backed “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” militia, prevented on Friday, September 30th, the residents of Maryamin village in Shara district from harvesting the green olive crop under the threat of kidnapping and imprisonment.

Our reporter stated that, after the end of Friday prayers in the mosque of Maryamin village, the leader alerted the people not to harvest olives before October 10 from the fields located near the berm of the militia’s barrier under the pretext of security measures, and anyone who violates is liable to be arrested.

Our reporter added that most of the olive fields of the village of Maryamin, located near the barrier and the berm, were robbed, in addition to the theft of green olives from the fields of the residents of the villages of Mazraa and Kafr Maza, which also belong to Shara district.

In a related context, the IDPs living in the camps stole green olives from the fields located in the Jumke plain (the villages of Tal Tawil and Jumke) near the city of Afrin from the northeastern side and sold them in Afrin markets.

Our reporter satated also that the Turkish-backed “Samarkand” militia and IDPs seized about four thousand olive trees and picked green olives in the village of Kafr Safra of Jindires district in the occupied countryside of Afrin.
