Turkish-Supported militants cut down 95 olive trees in Afrin countryside

Gunmen affiliated with the Turkish-backed militias cut down about 95 olive trees in the villages of Jwaiq and Gamruk in the occupied countryside of Afrin, amid their leaders ignoring the complaints submitted against them by the residents.

Our reporter stated that gunmen belonging to the Turkish-backed “Al-Hamzah Division” militia cut down 70 trees, within two weeks, from the land of the citizen “Aziz Muhammad Abu Jawan” in the village of Jwaiq.

In the first week, the gunmen uprooted 20 trees, and when the citizen “Abu Jawan” complained at the militia headquarters in the village, the gunmen returned in the second week to cut down another 50 trees and threated him if he file a complaint against them.

In the village of Gamruk in Shara district, the gunmen also cut down 25 trees from a land belongs to the citizen “Hussein Muhammad”, who resides in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood in the city of Afrin.

It is reported that the Turkish-backed “Sultan Murad” militia cut down about 100 olive trees from the vicinity of the village of Qarqina – Shara district, owned by the forcibly displaced citizen, “Hannan Omar Hanan.”
