Pro-Turkey militias cut down more than 115 olive, cypress and pomegranate trees from the lands of the people of the villages of Qastal Kishk, Teranda and Ain Dara in the occupied countryside of Afrin, under false pretexts to trade in their wood.
Our reporter stated today, Saturday, that members of the Turkish-backed “Sultan Murad” militia cut down 85 olive trees on a land located near the forest of the village of Qastal Kishk – Shara district, owned by the citizen “Sheikh Mous Mukhtar” of the village.
Our reporter added that the Turkish-backed militias cut down trees every year after the olive season, on the pretext that the owner was the head of the local council of the village during the previous Autonomous Administration in Afrin, knowing that the age of these trees that were cut is estimated to be more than 40 years.
In the same context, our sources said that gunmen cut down 35 pomegranate trees for the citizen “Hussein Muhammad” from the people of the village of Ain Dara, in addition to cutting cypress trees on the Teranda – Afrin road, located near the lands of the citizen “Osman Agha”.
