Kurdish citizen sentenced to 12 years in prison instead of 3

Our reporter said today, Wednesday, that the citizen “Ragheb Ahmed Alo” from the village of Dekih – Bulbul district, recieved a prison sentence of 12 years by the Criminal Court in the city of Afrin, which is affiliated with the Turkish authorities.

In July 2021, the Turkish-backed “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” militia kidnapped the young man, “Ragheb Alo,” and handed him over to the Turkish intelligence, which imprisoned him in Marateh Central Prison in Afrin.

The Turkish court in Afrin sentenced him to three years in prison, in April 2022, on charges of belonging to the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and participating in hostilities during the former Autonomous Administration.

The court re-trial today issued a sentence against him of 12 years instead of three.
