“The Pro-Turkey ‘Faylaq al-Sham’ militia, issued an incapacitating decision, prohibiting farming and sheep grazing, under pain of confiscation and imprisonment, under the pretext of preserving public and private property.”
According to our reporter in the city of Afrin, “the ‘Faylaq Al-Sham’ militia issued an administrative order, according to which it prevents the residents of the village of Barad in Sherawa sub-district from going to their property or harvesting their crops under penalty of imprisonment and paying large royalties, except after obtaining the approval from the militia and paying it royalties in exchange for letting them go to their fields.
Our correspondent indicated that the decision issued by the “Faylaq Al-Sham” militia includes preventing farmers from harvesting olive crops or doing work such as tree yards and planting agricultural land, and also prevents shepherds from bringing grazing sheep in the village of Barad to a written decision by the so-called ‘security of the militia’.
Whoever violates the decisions of the militia is threatened to pay large royalties, imprisonment, and seizing his property, claiming that these properties are within their sphere of influence and it is the only decision-maker there.
