Local sources from Afrin reported that the pro-Turkey “civil police” militia, on the twenty-fourth of August, arrested two Kurdish citizens from their homes in the village of Şêxûtka of Maabatli sub-district, on charges of going on guard shifts during the previous Autonomous Administration period in Afrin, northern Syria.
According to the same sources, the militia raided the home of ‘Imad Ahmed Babo’, 35 years old, and ‘Farouk Hannan Kosra’, 65 years old, arrested them and took them to its headquarters in Mabeta/Maabatli sub-district center, demanding them of 1,500 Turkish liras.
In other villages, the Turkish authorities arrested three Kurdish citizens, including two young women, on charges of dealing with the former Autonomous Administration.
According to the documentary report issued by the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party in Syria yesterday, Saturday, the “Military Police” militia arrested on Sunday, 22/8/2021, the Kurdish woman “Hevin Abdin Gharibo”, 20 years old, and the next day “Lina Zakaria Ibish, 22 years old, who are from the town of Baadina near Rajo sub-district, without being charged.
The report added that the Turkish authorities released “Hevin” a day after her arrest, and imposed a fine/ransom of 2000 Turkish lira on her, while Lina was taken to Marateh Prison, in Afrin Center.
The report also stated that on 1/8/2021, the 31-year-old citizen, “Mohammed Jamil Sheikho”, from the town of Shieh / Sheikh Al Hadid, was arrested by an armed checkpoint of the Turkish-backed militias, where he was questioned and his cell phone was searched.
The citizen Muhammed Sheikho, who left his family behind in Aleppo city to return to Afrin and take care of his sick father, was taken to Al-Ra’i prison, and his fate is still unknown.
