The Turkish-backed Al-Hamzat Division militia, led by “Moataz Al-Abdullah,” the commander of the Suqur Al-Ghab Brigade, who controls the villages of “Keferdelê Jêrin, Keferdelê Jorin, Marate, Gundê Mezin, Gazê, and Cûqê,” imposed large royalties on each olive tree belongs to the forcibly displaced people of Afrin.
According our reporter, the Pro-Turkey local council, under pressure from the leader “Moataz Abdullah”, asked the Mukhtars in the aforementioned villages to conduct an accurate census of the properties of the forcibly displaced civilians, and provide detailed statement on the olive trees, on June 23, 2021.
After conducting the census by the Local Council and the Mukhtars of the Properties of the Forcibly Displaced People, al-Hamzah Division militia, imposed large royalties, as it imposed taxes on each olive tree ($8 per olive tree) for three years, in exchange for allowing those who have power of attorney to take care of the olive trees belonging to the displaced people of those villages.
