Afrin residents are forced to head to the city of Azaz to secure many of their basic needs, given the availability of goods in its market due to the strong economic relations with Turkey, but they are threatened with arrest and kidnapping by pro-Turkey security and military militias.
Our reporter stated that the family of the the citizen Fahd Alawi, who is originally from the city of Azaz, but he is an old resident of the city of Afrin and has a water generators and scrap shop on Terenda road in the occupied city of Afrin, lost the contact with him.
The citizen Fahd was on his way to the occupied city of Al-Bab, when he went missing, and information indicates that he was arrested at the checkpoint of the Turkish-backed militias at the entrance to the city of Al-Bab.
The kidnapping incidents are carried out on the basis of identity of the citizens, the origin city or permanent residence, and the kidnapped is released after paying a ransom. The latest incidents of which took place when the Turkish-backed so-called “anti-terrorist” unit in Azaz has arrested two Kurdish citizens of Afrin, namely:
- Mazen Yousef Khalil, from the village of Qere Gulê of Bulbul sub-districy. He was severely tortured and his leg was broken as a result.
- Aslan Rezzo, from the village of Şêxûrzê of Bulbul sub-district.
