In pictures: Archaeological hill bulldozed and destroyed by Turkey’s militants in Jindires sub-district

afrinpost – Exclusive

Reliable sources told our website that the Turkish-backed “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia has been carrying out excavation and bulldozing works with heavy machinery, in an archaeological hill in the middle of the village of Qurbe, in Jindires sub-district, with the aim of searching for and stealing ancient treasures and burials.

Excavation and bulldozing work led to the uprooting of a number of trees in the archaeological site, as well as the destruction of a number of graves in the village cemetery located on the archaeological hill.

In the same context, IDPs backed by pro-Turkey militants continue the excavating archaeological sites using “skewers” in the entire area surrounding the archaeological hill of Jindires, which the Turkish authorities turned into a military base after building a circular cement wall on its surface and providing it with surveillance cameras.
