Yesterday evening, Saturday, violent clashes erupted between the militias of the Turkish-backed “Jaish al-Nukhba and Suqour Al-Shamal” militias in the village of Umer Simo in Sharan sub-district, as a result of disputes over the right to dig and search for antiquities in the vicinity of Nabi Hori Castle.
Our reporter said that violent clashes erupted between the two sides with heavy machine guns and RPGs, after Jaish al-Nukhba militia stationed in Al-Helou villa on the road to the Nabi Hori castle, attacked a military checkpoint of “Suqur Al-Shamal” militia stationed in Walid villa in the village of Umer Simo, which led to the injury of three members of both sides with varying injuries, some of them seriously.
Our reporter indicated that Jaish al-Nukhba faction, led by the so-called “Moataz Arslan”, who is based in the village of Zebtunaki, has recently begun to destroy the rest of the agricultural lands and summer sites in search of antiquities and founds near the Nabi Hori spring, using heavy machinery in digging.
Our reporter added that a state of alert and tension prevailed between the two factions as a result of violent clashes, while the wounded were transferred to Afrin hospitals for treatment.
