A militant – a former fighter as a mercenary in Libya – said that the militia of the Turkish-backed “Sultan Suleiman Shah Division – Al-Amshat” uses “khazouk” to torture detainees in the prisons it runs in Shieh / Sheikh al-Hadid sub-district in the countryside of the occupied Afrin region.
This came in a video circulated by activists on social media, in which the so-called “Mustafa Jundi Mulla” appeared revealing the details of the torture he had encountered inside Al-Amshat prisons in Libya and in Afrin as well.
The called “Mustafa” indicated that on 7/17/2020 he traveled to Libya, to fight against the Libyan National Army accompanied by Al-Amshat militia despite suffering a nervous disease – according to him – explaining that the militia had imprisoned, tortured him and forcibly returned him to Syria, without paying him his full financial dues, and that he was placed in a prison in the village of “Qarmitlaq – Shieh sub-district” until his recovery to hide the signs of torture on his body.
The mercenary “Mulla” said that the so-called “Abu Firas Mawas,” who is a leader in the militia, forced him to record his confession, in which he states that he had received all his salaries in exchange for his fight as a mercenary in Libya, and at the request of the leader “Abu Amshah” himself, adding that he saw with his own eyes how the “Al-Amshat” militia tortures civilians inside its prisons, and that they use the “Khazouk” to torture some of them.
