Kurdish woman died under torture in Turkish-supervised prison

afrinpost – Exclusive

The kidnapped Kurdish citizen, “Mewlida Noman”, 64, died today in the basements of Turkish prisons in northern Syria, as a result of torture inflicted upon her inside the prison.

A relative of the Kurdish woman stated to “afrinpost” that the Turkish-backed “Hamza Division” militia notified her family in the village of Bazikeh in Jenderes sub-district, that they can receive her body from “Al-Ra’i” prison in the northern countryside of Aleppo, stating “heart attack” as the cause of death.

The Kurdish elderly woman (Mewlida Noman) was imprisoned in the notorious Al-Ra’i prison since more that two years, despite her suffering from chronic diseases (diabetes, stress and heart disease) and the prison administration refusal to provide her with her medicine, despite the fact that “Hamza Division” militia was defrauding and exploiting her family to provide her with medicines she has never received in prison.

The pro-Turkey “Hamza Division” had kidnapped the Kurdish woman in April 2019, from her home in the village of “Bazikeh” of Jenderes sub-district in Afrin, under the pretext of dealing with the People’s Protection Units/ YPG.
