Turkish-backed militias cut 225 trees in Şêxûrzê, Uga, and Tirindê villages in Afrin

The extremist militias supported by Turkey and the Muslim Brotherhood organization cut 225 olive trees and pomegranates in the villages of Şêxûrzê, Uga, and Tirindê villages in the occupied Afrin region in northern Syria, with the aim of trading its woods.

In details, Our correspondent reported that armed men of “Suqour al-Shamal” militia that occupies the village of Şêxûrzê / Bulbul district, cut down 70 olive trees from a field owned by the citizen (Muhammad Ahmad Abu Aras), as well as 35 olive trees belonging to the citizen Muhammad Dada in the village of Uga / Bulbul.

In the village of Xelnêrê- Afrin, the armed men of “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia cut down about 80 olive trees, owned by a member of the “Qaqo” family.

In the village of Tirindê- Afrin, the IDPs cut down 40 pomegranate trees in a field near the second woodlot, owned by the Kurdish citizen “Khaled Qiddo”.

Human rights organizations and news organizations estimate the number of trees that have been cut down in order to trade their woods and deprive their owners of their livelihoods, with more than 500,000 trees, except for coniferous and woodland forests, which turned about 15,000 hectares of their areas into barren areas, as a result of burning and cutting operations carried out by the Turkish-backed armed men and their IDP families. .
