Turkish authorities building new settlement complex in eastern countryside of Afrin

Today, Sunday, the Turkish authorities unveiled the construction of a new settlement village near the village of “Khalta / Khalidiya”,in Sherawa sub-district in the eastern Afrin countryside, to house IDPs there in an effort to consolidate settlement and demographic change in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin.

The local council of Afrin, affiliated to the Turkey, announced on its official Facebook page that the so-called “Muhammad Sheikh Rashid, Deputy Chairman of the Council”, visited the site of the settlement project in order to see the progress of work there.”

The source pointed out that the project aims to build a village named “Kuwait Al-Rahma”, which includes 300 houses in addition to a mosque, clinic and institute for memorizing the Qur’an, indicating that the “Sham Al-Khair” Muslim Brotherhood Association is responsible for the construction.

This settlement village is not the first of its kind, as the “Syrian Forum” headed by Ghassan Hito, the former head of the Muslim Brotherhood’s coalition interm government, announced on his website on 4/4/2021 that an organization called “Al-Ihssan for Relief and Development” headed by Baraa Al-Samoudi started the construction project of / 247 / housing units with an area of ​​/ 40 / square meters, including a 60 square meters garden for each house, and a mountain site known as “Çiya Şewitî” close to Jabal Qazqli in the vicinity of the village of Kafr Safra in Jenderes district was chosen to establish the project.

The project aims to build a model settlement village in a mountain site near the village of Hajj Hasna. It is mentioned that “The Forum, Al-Ihsan Foundation” are two cooperating organizations that have a close relationship with the Turkish authorities and have offices in Turkey.
