Turkey set new conditions for the export of olive oil by traders to outside occupied Afrin

afrinpost – Exclusive

The Turkish authorities stipulated that local merchants should deliver quantities of olive oil to them in exchange for allowing them to take their stock of oil out of the occupied areas in northern Syria.

This came during a meeting with Turkish officials at the headquarters of Turkish agricultural credit cooperatives to buy olive oil in Jenderes in the countryside of the occupied Afrin region in northern Syria.

“Turkish officials offered the merchants presented at the meeting to hand over a quantity similar to the quantity they wish to export outside the occupied areas to the “cooperative” of the Turkish authority, but at a price lower than the local market, indicating that they set a price of 30.50 $ per tank, noting that the current price in the market ranges between 40 – 42 $.” According to “afrinpost” sources.

It should be noted that the cooperative has a commercial center located in the Refaatie-Jenderes olive oil press, in which the oil is collected in preparation for transport to Turkish territory and then exported to European markets, as it is of Turkish origin.
