“Kêla” water station robbed, and IDP shepherds tend their sheep in villagers’ vineyards

afrinpost – Exclusive

Unknown persons robbed the water pumping station in the village of “Kêla” in Bulbul sub-district, late Sunday night, which led to stop pumping water, while IDP shepherds threatened the villagers with death, if they objected them tending their sheep among the vineyards.

In the details, our correspondent in the sub-district said that unknown persons had stolen equipment used to operate the generator to pump water from the artesian well located inside Kêla village pumping water station, in addition to stealing fuel and other equipment despite a ‘Faylaq al-Majd” militia’s guard being at the station.

The pumping station supplies six villages with potable water, namely (Kêla, Zerka, Çûpana, Karê, Eşûnê, and Zivingê).

IDP shepherds, camping near the village of Zerka, tended their sheep among the vineyards belonging to the people of “Kêla” village, causing great damage to the vineyards.

The correspondent reported that the shepherds showed their weapons in the face of two citizens of the village and threatened to kill them after they were asked to get their herds out from the vineyards, without being able to know their identities.

The Turkish-backed “Faylaq al-Majd” militia occupies a number of villages in Bulbul and Rajo sub-districts, among them Zerka, Dîkê, Kêla, and Çûpana.
