Turkish authorities bulldoz “Kitix” hill and uproot 200 olive trees

afrinpost obtained a video showing the Turkish authorities razing the archaeological hill of “Kitix” in Mobata / Maabatli district, and cutting dozens of olive trees planted on the hill’s surface and its surroundings.

Excavations, bulldozing and destruction by heavy machinery began in the summer of 2018, and was carried out under the supervision of Turkish personnel with armed men of “Sultan Mehmed Al-Fateh” and “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya”, where the latter occupies the village of Heyate near the site.

According a report by the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party/Yekiti, the bulldozing operations led to the uprooting of about / 200 / old olive trees belonging to the “Heydo and Dadako” families, who are from the village of Qube-Rajo.
