The fate of Kurdish family, arrested by Turkish authorities, remains unknown

afrinpost

Mystery still surrounds the fate of a Kurdish family from occupied Afrin, since the Turkish authorities arrested them four months ago (12/8/2020) in Edirne region while trying to cross to Greece with other families. However, the Ankara authorities released everyone except the family of Walid Hassan Barakat.

The Kurdish family is from the village of Jalme-Jenderes, and it consists of the engineer Walid Hassan Barakat, 40 years old, his wife, Erbil Hannan, and their two children. It is noteworthy that the family lived in the city of Aleppo, and decided last summer to go to occupied Afrin and from there to Turkish territory and Greece, but they were arrested in Edirne region.

According to available information, the attorney told a relative of the family, the Turkish authorities had transferred the family members to Syria, but no one heard about them until this day.
