IDPs cut down 380 olive trees in Maydanki … to sell wood

IDPs from Homs cut down 380 olive trees from the fields owned by the people of the village of Maydanki in Sharan sub-district – Afrin in northern Syria, with the aim of trading wood.

According to the afrinpost reporter, the IDPs in the village of Maydanki recently cut down 180 olive trees from a field owned by the Kurdish citizen “Muhammad Ahmad”,  who residing in Afrin, adding that other settlers cut 200 olive trees from a field owned by the citizen Abdul Qadir, who was working as a public transport bus driver in the village.

The IDPs, who are from Homs, and relatives of “Sultan Murad” militants and other Turkmen militias, are among the groups that are most devoted to cutting olive trees in order to trade its wood, especially those who settle in Bulbul and Maydanki sub-districts.
