The so-called “Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs” of the Turkish authorities and the Muslim Brotherhood organization that seizes endowment properties, raised the rents imposed on commercial shops in the occupied Afrin region, according to afrinpost reporter.
The department used to impose an amount of fifty Turkish liras on every commercial store located within the properties of the endowment as a monthly rent, but it decided to raise the monthly rent to 75 Turkish liras, according to the reporter this increase is imposed on the natives only, and does not include the IDPs.
For its part, the “Kawa Roundabout” security affiliated with “al-Jabha al-Shamiya” militia also raised the monthly royalties imposed on shops and workshops located within the industrial zone in Afrin, under the name of “protection tax”.
The reporter explained that the economic committee of the militia raised the monthly royalty from 50 Turkish liras to 75 Turkish liras for each workshop or industrial facility.
