Armed men of Suqour al-Shamal Brigade verbally assaulted a Kurdish woman in one of Bulbul district villages, and forcibly cut her hair, after insulting her and calling her an infidel, according to afrinpost‘s reporter.
The sixty-year-old Kurdish woman was brushing her hair in the yard of her house in the village, when the gunmen were in a neighboring house and saw her. “They assaulted her verbally accusing her of being infidel and imitating Kurdish women fighters by letting her hair grow longer”, the reporter added.
The gunmen told her: “You are an infidel … How do you brush your hair outside? You are a prostitute or imitate the party fighters” referring to the Women Protection Units/ YPJ, and then they cut her hair completely as a punishment.
afrinpost refrains from mentioning the name of the woman and the village, out of concern for her safety.
Suqour al-Shamal Brigade militia was established in 2012 with support and funding from the State of Qatar, and includes militants from Idlib and Jisr al-Shughur, who fought the regime’s army in northern Syria, until Ankara decided to form the “National Army” militia on December 30, 2017, which included several Islamist militias/ Jihadists, including “Suqour al-Shamal Brigade”, with the aim of serving Ankara’s agendas in Syria.
