In Afrin: “Suqour al-Sharqiya” militia seizes 17 apartments and 8 shops

gunmen of the Turkish-backed “Suqour al-Sharqiya” militia seize 17 apartments and 8 commercial stores from IDPs for the purpose of renting them, while gunmen refuse to return a car to its owner.

afrinpost correspondent reported that yesterday evening, Tuesday 23/2/2021, an apartment owned by Kurdish citizen Sido Aref, from the village of Gunde Dike, was sold for $ 700, and the apartment is located in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood near “Mektebê Reş” School.

In addition, the house of the Kurdish citizen Muhammad Zemchi, located near al-Utostrad Triangle, on the first floor of the middle building, was sold for 2,500 US dollars. The seller is an armed member of “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia, while the buyer is an IDP from eastern Syria region.

The reporter added that disputes are still going on between the gunmen and IDPs over the homes of Afrin original residents. Militants affiliated with the “Suqur al-Sharqiya” militia have taken IDPs out of the homes and properties they seize in the building of Farid Muhammad -from Kakhereh village-located on Jenderes Road, to rent the 17 houses and 8 shops in their favor.

In another context, gunmen affiliated with Malik-shah militia refused to return a van they had seized to its owner, the Kurdish citizen Muhammad Khalil Sheikho from the village of Gunde Kurdo, as they took it out of Afrin city and smuggled it to the town of al-Rai.
