afrinpost learned from its own sources that a gunman of “al-Shamiya Front” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization threatened a Kurdish citizen in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood with death if he did not agree to forcibly marry his 14-year-old daughter, which made him to speed up her marriage to one of the members the family, however, the militant escalated his threats after he learned about the marriage of the girl to someone else, so he threatens to kill the girl and her groom as soon as they are found, who were forced to hide in the occupied Afrin region, fearing the threats of the gunman who is from the city of Azaz.
The sources confirmed that the gunman offered to pay the girl’s father a ransom of five thousand dollars to retract his threats to kill them.

This is not the first incident of its kind. On January 6, 202, a gunman of “al-Hamzat” militia threatened a Kurdish family in the countryside of Afrin to kidnap her daughter if she insisted on not marrying her with him.
In another incident, a Kurdish woman, the mother of two, was forced to flee al-Mahmoudiya neighborhood of Afrin and went via smuggling routes to al-Shahba areas about a month ago, after an armed member of “al-Hamzat” militia pressured her to marry him at gunpoint, taking advantage of her circumstance because of her husband’s arrest in earlier period.
