Al-Waqqas militia imposes tax on livestock in villages of Shieh and Jenderes

afrinpost – Special

afrinpost correspondent said that elements of “Al Waqqas” militia who are controlling the following villages (Senare – Anqele – Hekeche – Marwaniye Tahtani – Marwaniye Fawqani) of Shieh and Jenderes districts imposed a tax of 50 Turkish liras for each head of livestock owned by Kurds, two days ago.

A sample of receipts issued by Al-Waqqas militia and stamped with the seal of the so-called security apparatus of the militia was circulated, indicating the scope and number of livestock, according to which the tax amounts are collected.

On the other hand, on Thursday 04/02/2021, the militia members cut down 40 olive trees, owned by Kamal Muhammad Nabi, from the village of Hekeche-Shieh.

It is noteworthy that Waqqas militia had transformed the villages it controls into large prisons, and restricted the movement of Kurdish citizens. On the twelfth of last July, the afrinpost received information that “al-Waqqas Brigade” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization had turned a village “Anqele” of “Shieh / Sheikh Al-Hadid” district into a large prison for its Kurdish indigenous population, where it restricts their movements outside the village, and those entering and leaving it are only allowed with written permission from the militia headquarters in the village.
