The Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood continue to tighten inspection procedures at the checkpoints established at the entrances to the occupied city of Afrin, and to make any pretext for arresting Kurdish youth and collecting ransoms from them in order to restrain them and displace them.
According to the afrinpost reporter, the occupation police at the main checkpoints at the entrances of the occupied city of Afrin (Al-Qaws, Trenda, al-Mahmoudiya, and the western entrance to Afrin) arrest Kurdish youths under false pretenses, and take them to their headquarters in the “Ronahi” printing press in front of Azhar Afrin private school, where they conduct investigation with them, and after the end of the investigation, they keep their identity cards, and asks them to come to the headquarters after two days for paying the financial extortion.
The reporter added that several such incidents had occurred, including what happened with the two Kurdish youths, Muhammad Oso and Ahmed Khalil, from the village of Diraqliya, who were arrested at the Al-Qaws checkpoint (on the Aleppo road) and released after stealing $ 200 in ransom money from them.
The Turkish occupation authorities had taken, at the beginning of the new year, strict security measures that included all the checkpoints at the entrances to the security forces, and the security barriers have tightened the procedures for inspecting passers-by at the entrances and exits of Afrin, under the pretext of searching for ISIS cells.
According to the afrinpost correspondent, the occupation authorities have added two members of the “political security” militia to these checkpoints, and its mission is to harass the Kurds and make up charges against them, especially at the “Jenderes Road and Trendah” checkpoints, where they get Kurdish youths exclusively out of vehicles and investigate them about fabricated charges, the simplest of which is going out on guard duty during the Autonomous Administration era.
