“Hamzat” militia arrests and tortures a Kurdish farmer … after he objected cutting down 220 olive trees in the village of Bablit

On Friday, 2/1/2021, “Hamzat” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood kidnapped the citizen Abdo Sheikh Kadro, nicknamed “Abdo Al Hallaq”, in the village of Bablit // Jenderes, after he objected the militia’s cutting down 220 olive trees belonging to him and his siblings.

According to Afrinpost sources, the militia took the citizen “Abdo al-Hallaq” to its headquarters in the village of Marate and subjected him to severe torture because of his objection to cutting his trees, to release him three days after his abduction.

The sources explained that Hamzat gunmen who are occupying the village cut down 220 olive trees, which are as follows

  • Sheikh Abdel Qader Sheikh Kadro: 100 trees out of 800 trees, noting that he paid the militia a sum of 1600 US dollars to protect the field from being cut down
  • Abdo Sheikh Kadro: 70 olive trees
  • Mustafa Sheikh Kadro: 50 olive trees

The sources added that the militia cut other fields belonging to the people of the village of Bablit, without being able to document the names of their owners and the size of losses they lost due to the campaign launched by armed men.
