Forcing people of a village to attend religious lessons, amid a rumor of “imminent arrival of Jabhat al-Nusra ” to the region

afrinpost – Special

The Muslim Brotherhood militias seek to create profound changes in the culture of Afrin society by spreading extremist ideology through religious lessons, and in the village of Shekhoutka, “Jaish al-Nukhba” militia forces children and families to attend religious lessons, and promote the imminent arrival of Jabhat al-Nusra and occupying the village instead of them.

The afrinpost correspondent reported that “Jaish al-Nukhba” militants are tightening the noose through daily practices against the people of the village of Shekhotka in Mobata / Maabatli district, and they create various excuses for this.

The reporter stated that the militia forces the people, especially children, to attend religious lessons in the village school and mosque, to learn the Qur’an. While the Turkish occupation authorities closed schools and suspended the education process due to the Corona pandemic, religious lessons were not subject to the ban and are still continuing.

The reporter pointed out that one of the gunmen, called “Abu Ammar,” told the people that “Jabhat al-Nusra is coming to Afrin area, and we want you to learn so that you will be acceptable to Al-Nusra.”

It is worth noting that the prominent Shari in Jabhat al-Nusra, Abdullah al-Muhaysini, accompanied by Musleh al-Olaya, visited Afrin earlier and met with the leaders of failaq al-Sham militia. His visit came in parallel with Turkish efforts to float “al-Nusra” leadership that leads the Headquarters of Tahrir Al-Sham, removing it from the dilemma of describing terrorism on the one hand, as well as sparing it from the possible consequences of the ongoing Russian military campaign in Idlib Governorate.
