“Suleiman Shah” militia, known as “Al-Amshat”, is the model tool that Turkey adopted in occupying the Afrin region and eradicating it through committing various types of violations and crimes.
Special sources from Shiye district center revealed that the militants of “Sultan Suleiman Shah” militia, led by Muhammad Husayn al-Jasim, nicknamed (Abu Amsha), continued to carry out robberies and plunder the properties of the people and impose royalties on the people of Shiye / Sheikh al-Hadid district for the year 2020 estimated at about 12 million dollars.
Since the announcement of the occupation of the Kurdish region of Afrin on March 18, 2018 by the Turkish occupation army and the militias of the Muslim Brotherhood the “Syrian National Army,”, the worst violations and crimes against humanity are carried out against the Kurdish people, the original inhabitants of Afrin, after the forcible displacement of about 80% of its people to al-Shahba areas.
On the other hand, militia gunmen impose all kinds of royalties on crops, agricultural seasons and various types of properties, and they collect ransom money as a result of carrying out acts of kidnapping of Kurds after accusing them of false pretenses and fabricated charges, in order to restrict the people and tighten the screws on them and displace the remaining residents from their homes.
One of the most prominent of those militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, which operates by direct order by the Turkish intelligence, is the “Sultan Suleiman Shah” militia, known as Al-Amashat named after its leader, “Muhammad Al-Jasim,” nicknamed “Abu Amsha.”
Who is “Muhammad Al-Jasim” / “Abu Amsha”?
He is Muhammad Husayn al-Jassim, known by his nickname “Abu Amsha,” the leader of “Sultan Suleiman Shah” militia, born in 1985 in the village of Al-Jawsa in the Al-Suqaylabiyah district in the northern Hama countryside, he is of Turkmen origin, and his name has been associated with the most heinous crimes and untold violations in occupied Afrin.
Muhammad al-Jasim used to work in rock quarry in the Al-Suqaylabiyah region in Hama countryside with a monthly salary not exceeding 30 thousand Syrian pounds, and with the onset of the Syrian crisis and at the end of 2011, he established what is known as “Liwa Khat an-Nar” with the support of Turkish intelligence, which included 500-700 armed men, which had bad reputation in the western region in Hama countryside. He worked as a pimp for Abu al-Waleed al-Kuwaiti, the leader of the “Shuhada Besqala Brigades “, originally from Daraa, and blackmailed him with pictures of disgraceful situation.
Many sources confirm that “Abu Amsha” is famous for selling and trading weapons and fuel, cutting roads, stealing vital installations and factories, and demanding ransoms from civilians at gunpoint since 2012, and he has betrayed the factions that he joined, and participated in the fighting with Jabhat al-Nusra and he and his group were stationed in Kafr Nabl area, he escaped with stealing the weapons and so did he with Hazim movement.
“Abu Amsha” worked with the so-called “Abu Walid al-Kuwaiti” in smuggling fuel from Syria to Turkey, and upon his arrival to the Azaz area, he met Abu Ali Sajoo and officers in the Turkish intelligence and formed a militia called “Sultan Suleiman Shah”.
“Abu Amsha” is the product of the Turkish intelligence and is known for him and his militants to commit wholesale violations, including: The killing of the deputy head of the local “Shiye” council, Ahmed Sheikho, after being brutally tortured. Since the Al-Amshat militia took control of the Shiye / Sheikh al-Hadid district, they did not hesitate to commit all acts of looting, pillage and theft of homes and properties of Kurdish citizens there, as well as acts of kidnapping hundreds of Kurdish citizens and demanding ransoms from them.
Abu Amsha is one of the godfathers of the operation of transferring mercenaries to fight to Libya and Azerbaijan, and he went there personally in support of the Muslim Brotherhood government, and published photos of him visiting his wounded mercenaries in a hospital in Libya.
Violations in Shiye / Sheikh Al-Hadid sub-district
A private source in Shiye / Sheikh al-Hadid reported examples of crimes and violations committed by the militants of “Sultan Suleiman Shah” / “Amshat” militia led by Abu Amsha, the foremost of which is the kidnapping of hundreds of Kurdish citizens and the imposition of ransoms on them to release them. In addition, seizing civilian properties.
Seizing the properties and crops of the people of Shiye district
The source confirmed that the so-called “Abu Amsha” seized the gas station owned by Kocher family, in addition to seizing the grove of the Sheikh Ismail Zada family, with an estimated area of five hectares of existing apple and pear trees, and turning it into a breeding center for horses and a race and training track.
Seizing the olive press belonging to the family of Sheikh Ismail Zada and making it a headquarters for its mercenaries and a training center for its members.
Seizing the shops opposite the gas station, owned by the Sheikh Murad family, and using them for the benefit of the so-called Abu Amsha.

The seizure of olive fields for of the forcibly displaced people in al-Shahba canton, estimated at 270,000 olive trees, and the seizure of more than 300 fields of vineyards and other crops, as well as the seizure of the olive field belonging to the Kamal Agha family, whose number is estimated at about 3000 olive trees. Abu Amsha was known for his bad reputation and raping the wives of militia members, taking advantage of their absence because they were sent to Libya and Nargono Karbagh, while he was preparing numbers of them to send them recently to the disputed Kashmir region between India and Pakistan. The wife of one of the gunmen, called “Israa Khalil”, revealed, in a video clip that was widely circulated, that “Abu Amsha” raped her repeatedly
Imposing royalties and determining its the percentage on the people of Shih
The so-called “Abu Amsha” imposes royalties on the people of Shiye sub-district, under false pretenses, namely dealing with the institutions of the former Autonomous Administration in Afrin.
Intentionally imposing a royalty of 15% on the harvest of the forcibly displaced people in favor of the militants in the name of the local council of Shiye district, in addition to imposing a financial sum of 8 dollars for each tree in exchange for permission to harvest the fruits.
Imposing an amount of US $ 3 for each tree owned by the people in their villages, not to mention theft, looting and robbery.
Collecting 1/8 of the daily workers ’wages after determining the working hour, with a sum of 500 Syrian pounds.
Imposing a royalty equivalent to half a dollar from the price of an empty oil container, estimated at 3000 Syrian pounds.
The royalty was imposed on the olive season, with varying proportions of oil containers, which are (Chaqale Tahtani 800 oil containers – Chaqale Wistani 700 oil containers – Kakhira 2000 oil containers).
Imposing a royalty of 500 containers on each press, and making an inventory of the number of oil containers issued in order to collect 20% of the olive oil yield from the people.
According to sources from Shiye district, a royalty of $ 250,000 was imposed on the district center and the village of Qirmitlaq in Shiye district $ 125,000, in addition to the three villages of Chaqale $ 150,000.
The total royalties in Shih district for the year 2020 amounted to (12) million US dollars.
