Child martyred in Al-Shahba areas due to the explosion of a landmine

A child from the town of Qabasin, in the Al-Bab region, was killed by the explosion of a landmine in the agricultural lands of Fafin district in Al-Shahba areas.

Yesterday, Tuesday, December 1, 2020, a landmine of ISIS remnants was planted between olive fields in Fafin district in Al-Shahba areas, which resulted in the injury of the child Muhammad Kurdi Ibrahim (9 years), from the village of Qabasin. He was transferred to Fafin Hospital, but he passed away.

It is noteworthy that the incidents of mine explosions left by ISIS are repeated from time to time in Al-Shahba areas, claiming victims, especially children.

On November 20, 2020, four children were injured as a result of a landmine explosion in the vicinity of Tal Rifaat, which resulted in the amputation of the leg of two children below the knee. On 10/4/2020, a citizen Maya Gul Khulo (43 years), from Jalameh village, was injured by a landmine explosion as well. On 2/9/2020, two children were injured in the village of Tal Shiir, when a landmine exploded.

The explosion of mines also led to the death of two displaced persons from Afrin on 2/1/2020 in the village of Babins in Al-Shahba, and the two citizens close to the village of Goran in Jenderes district, their names : “Kaniwar Hussein Alosh (33 years), and“ Samir Manan Alosh. The mine exploded while citizens were searching for firewood.

The number of casualties as a result of landmine explosions in al-Shahba areas is estimated at / 85 /.
