Afrinpost – Special

“Failaq al-Sham” militia carried out a campaign of arrests in the Yazidi village of Basufan in Sherawa district and kidnapped a number of citizens, including a young man who had previously been subjected to an attempted murder, and they were severely beaten, but they released him after hours due to bleeding.

The afrinpost correspondent reported that “Failaq al-Sham” militia, on Friday, December 5th, carried out a campaign of arbitrary arrests in the Yazidi village of Basufan in Sherawa district. They kidnapped a number of Kurdish citizens on the accusation of belonging to the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and immediately transferred the kidnapped citizens to the prison of Iskan village in the same area, and they are: 1- Ali Kazem Ali (22 years old). 2- Basel Mamed Hussein (22 years old). 3- Samer Mamed Hussein (35 years old). 4- Dilbrain Arabo known as (Delo Arabo) 5- Ahmad Hindi Hindi (32 years old),

The reporter pointed out that the kidnapping campaign affected a number of residents of the villages of Kabashin and Ba’yeh, but their identities and numbers were not known, noting that the gunmen had to release the citizen Dilberin Arabo hours after his abduction due to severe bleeding as a result of the severe beating he was subjected to.

It is noteworthy that the citizen Dilberin, whose wounds have not healed, had previously been subjected to an attempted murder. In a previous news published by afrinpost on 3/31/2020, the young Dilberin Arabo was subjected to an attempted killing by the militants of the “Failaq al-Sham” militia on 3/30/2020 and was wounded at that time, with two bullets in the abdomen, the militants prevented transferring him to Afrin hospitals, due to his refusal to evacuate his house in Basufan village in Sherawa district, in favor of a militia leader.

The same source also mentioned that the militants had earlier kidnapped a number of Kurdish youths in the villages of Ba’yeh and Basufan in Sherawa district, and their fate is still unknown until today.

The storming of the village by the Islamic militia “Failaq al-Sham” came because the people did not respond converting to Islam. In the context of revenge against the people, the militia gunmen carry out an arrest campaign targeting the Yazidi people from time to time, to force them to leave the village.

It is worth noting that the “Failaq al-Sham” militia, which is close to Ankara, is one of the jihadist militias and has close ties with the Al-Nusra Front, as the so-called Abdullah Al-Muhaysini, the legitimate leader of the Headquarters for Tahrir Al-Sham, recently visited its headquarters in Afrin to express condolences for the death of the father of one of the militia leaders.

The militia continues to harass the people of the Yazidi village of Basufan because of their religious beliefs, accusing them of “blasphemy and heresy,” and has converted the house of a Yazidi civilian resident into a mosque, and it demolished the dome of the Sheikh Ali shrine in the village earlier.
