The Turkish occupation militia raided the house of a Kurdish artist in the village of Chobana, in Jenderes district, and proceeded to arrest him and his wife on charges of hiding Kurdish books in a well next to his home.
According to the Human Rights Organization in Afrin, armed men from the Military Police militia “accompanied by armed men from the“ Ahrar al-Sham ”militia raided, on Monday, the house of the Kurdish artist Ismael Hussein Hamo, 38, and arrested him and his wife Berivan, who was released hours after their arrest under the pretext of hiding weapons and Kurdish books in a well next to his house.
The local organization suggested that the militants themselves placed weapons and Kurdish books in the well, in preparation for extorting him financially and seizing his property, knowing that the militants resorted to these methods repeatedly, to fabricate justifications with the aim of seizing property and extorting their owners financially.
