The “Sultan Murad” militia threatens to kill an elderly Afrini woman, and bury her under an olive tree … if she insists on not giving up her season to them.

Afrinpost – Special

The Turkish occupation militias and settlers continue to carry out large-scale theft operations against the olive season, which belongs to the people of the occupied Afrin region.

In the context, the Afrinpost correspondent reported that the armed men of the “Sultan Murad” militia expelled an elderly Arab woman from the Al-Omairat clan from the olive field she owned in the village of Telef in the countryside of Jenderes, and prevented her from harvesting the olive season, despite the fact that she brought with her an official document proving her ownership of the olive field. .

The reporter indicated that the incident took place several days ago in the village of Telef, where three armed men from the Sultan Murad militia blocked the way of the elderly woman, Umm Mahmoud Ghazal (70 years), while she was inspecting her olive field, and one of the gunmen pushed her and dropped her on the ground.

The reporter added that the gunmen not only assaulted the old woman, but threatened her: “If you come back to here again, we will bury you here, and you will choose the tree, which we will bury you under it.” And in a more threatening tone, they said to the elderly woman, “If your sons are real men, let them go.”

“The story is not finished,” continues the reporter. The old woman accepted the matter after this situation and asked to pick some olives of a non-oily type to make green and calcined olives, just for home-use, and the armed men allowed her to harvest some olives, but they returned to her after hours, and emptied a bag the olives are on the ground, and they tread on the olives that the elderly woman harvested. Thus, the elderly woman returned to Afrin, empty-handed.

The correspondent also mentioned that the elderly woman had brought official papers proving her ownership of the olive field from the local council of the Turkish occupation, but the armed militias in Afrin do not accept all papers issued by the local councils and do not give them legal consideration.
