Afrinpost – Special
The bodies of Syrian mercenaries arrive in Afrin, while Ankara finds it difficult to recruit more, and the number of mercenaries killed in Azerbaijan has reached 217.
Afrinpost correspondent reported that 9 bodies of the dead mercenaries participating in the Azeri-Armenian war on the Nagorno Karabakh / Artsakh fronts had arrived in the occupied Afrin region, explaining that four of them are “Amshat” militants, one of them was called “Abu Yazan” and they were buried in the village Kakheriya / Maabatli, and 3 dead from the “Sultan Murad” militia who were buried in the Zaydiyya neighborhood cemetery in the city of Afrin, and there are two other dead from Oso group affiliated with the “al-Jabha al-Shamiya” militia, one of them was called “Abu Muhammad Al-Bayanuni”, and they were buried in the Kursana cemetery south of Afrin.
Yesterday, 10/28/2020, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that a new batch of mercenaries had arrived in Azerbaijan during the past few days, and included 300 mercenaries, bringing the total number of Syrian mercenaries who were transferred to Azerbaijan to join the fighting fronts in the battles of the “Nagorny” region Karabakh, “about 2,350 mercenaries, 320 of whom returned after they gave up everything, including their material dues.
The Syrian Observatory has documented the killing of at least 29 mercenaries, and 15 bodies have arrived in Syria, raising the death toll of mercenaries since they were thrown into the first ranks of the battles by the Turkish government, since the end of last September, to at least 217 dead, and the bodies of 138 dead people have reached Syria, while the rest of the bodies are still in Azerbaijan.
The observatory stated that Ankara is finding it very difficult to recruit mercenaries and put them in the battles of “Nagorno Karabakh”. The refusal of a large segment of the militants to go to fight to the Azerbaijani forces is due to the “sectarian” factor, and the high number of deaths due to the ferocity of the fighting, and the first batches of mercenaries were not aware of the nature of the sectarian difference, and some of them returned for this reason, in addition to the difficult conditions.
