Afrinpost correspondent reported that “Jaish al-Nikhba” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization, imposed monetary royalties on the farmers of the villages (Amara, Shekhutka, Omer Sumu, Aboudan, Kurdo, Zaitunakah, Aboudan and Haftar), regardless of tree production or not.
According to the correspondent, the royalty is 600 Syrian pounds for each olive tree, and the militia is expected to earn tens of millions of Syrian pounds as a result of this royalties, noting that the number of trees belonging to the farmers of these villages exceeds one million trees.
It is reported that each militia issued its own tariff for the royalties imposed on olive trees, and it ranged from 45 cents (1,000 Syrian pounds) to two dollars (about 4,500 Syrian pounds).
In a related context, the reporter stated that the “Al-Waqqas” militia in the village of Marwaneh Tahtani imposed a royalty of $ 100 on the owners of olive fields in the village, in order for them to harvest their crops. The militia “Liwa Saad bin Abi Waqqas” also destroyed about 2,800 olive trees in the village of “Marwaneh Tahtani” owned by members of one family, namely: “Mikael Bakir Mustafa 200 trees, Muhammad Bakir Mustafa 180 trees, Subhi Bakir Mustafa 140 trees, Israfil Bakir Mustafa, 300 trees, Haji Muhammad Mustafa, 1000 trees, and the citizen Jibrail Bakir Mustafa, 1000 trees.
Yesterday, Tuesday 10/6/2020, Muhammad Al-Fateh’s militia looted the olive season of three families from the village of “Maamla / Mamal Ushagy” in Mobata district.
Meanwhile, Sultan Murad’s militia began harvesting crops in the entire fields extending on both sides of the road between the village of Qasha and the center of Bulbula district, and brought large numbers of displaced people to work from the camps of Atma, Jenderes and Ghazawiya.
In addition, the entire olive groves on the Jenderes road to the village of Bubblit are subjected to olive theft, and the olives are sold at the market for 600 pounds per kilo.
