The settlers of Ghouta, Homs and Daraa stole the olive season of several indigenous Kurds in Afrin before it had even ripened, while the people of some villages were forced to pick their olives when they were unripe, fearing theft.
The “Afrinpost” correspondent said that settlers from Ghouta looted the season of 300 trees belonging to the late Anwar Mustafa, and 300 trees for his brother Muhammad Mustafa a few days ago.
The reporter indicated that the olive trees of Kurdish citizens are still unripe, and despite that, the settlers stole their season to take it to the press. The reporter added: “The settlers do not know how to deal with olives, they do not know that unripe olives will not produce production as if it was ripe.” .
On the other hand, the reporter said that settlers from Daraa and Homs stole the season of 800 trees belonging to Adnan Abu Marika from the village of Qatma, three days ago.
The reporter noted that settlers do not even know how to harvest olives, as they use sticks for picking, and this is what leads to breaking the fruitful branches in the tree.
On the other hand, the correspondent said, quoting sources, that the people of the villages of Darwish, Qadda, Kutana, Kobakeh, Damar and Bablit are forced to harvest their unripe olives for fear of theft, and this affects production.
