Militia checkpoints impose transit fees on olive produce at the western entrance to Afrin

The security checkpoints of the Turkish occupation militia impose a royalty on the vehicles that cross the road loaded with olive or olive oil.

The Afrinpost correspondent reported that the “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia checkpoint, which is built at the junction of the “Ster” village, affiliated to the center of the occupied Afrin region, requires every car loaded with oil or olives to pay an amount of ten thousand Syrian pounds.

In a related context, elements affiliated with the “Sultan Murad” militia checkpoint impose a royalty on the Birin factories imposing the payment of five thousand Syrian pounds for small cars. As for the tractors and large cars, they are loaned to pay an oil can or fifty thousand Syrian pounds, noting that this checkpoint was known with the name of the 200 checkpoint, in the previous period, as every vehicle crossing the road used to pay 200 Syrian pounds.

The Afrinpost correspondent had previously reported that a checkpoint of “al-Hamzat” militia militants in the village of Gulian / Raju district, takes ID cards from tractor drivers and cars loaded with olives or oil, and takes them to the headquarters in order to steal an oil can or an amount of money equivalent to the value of Oil can.

It is noteworthy that a security checkpoint belonging to the “Sultan Suleiman Shah” militia in the area of ​​”Shieh / Sheikh Al-Hadid” imposes an additional in-kind royalty on cars and vehicles loaded with oil from the village’s olive press.

The reporter added that the militia checkpoint takes two olive oil cans from every vehicle (car or tractor) crossing the checkpoint, to be added to the total of other royalties imposed by the al-Amshat militia on the villages under its occupation.
