The Afrinpost correspondent in Jenderes district, this morning, Wednesday morning, monitored clashes between “al-Sham front” militia and “al-Hamzat” militia in the village of Qarasiq due to disagreements over the right of either of them to control the olive harvest in a number of fields in the village and steal it.
The reporter explained that “al-Hamzat” gunmen came from the city of Jenderes and its surroundings, to steal the olive harvest in the fields belonging to the people of the village. The sounds of clashes that take place with heavy weapons did not stop for two hours, while it is not known whether there were deaths or injuries on the two sides, or not.
The reporter emphasized that civilians in the villages of Jalameh, Iska and Qarsiq did not dare to leave their homes for fear of bullets.
Clashes and armed confrontations have erupted repeatedly between the militias competing to share stolen goods from the livelihoods and property of the indigenous people of Afrin region since it came under occupation in mid-March 2018.
