The Turkish occupation forces and its Islamic militias associated with the Muslim Brotherhood continue to target the center of Maabatli district in the countryside of the occupied Afrin region, with arrest and kidnapping campaigns aimed at financial extortion within the framework of the harassment and impoverishment plan implemented by the Turkish occupation intelligence, known as “MIT”.
In the context, the Afrin Post correspondent said that the “Civil Police” militia, yesterday, Sunday, raided a number of houses in Mabatli and arrested a number of Kurdish citizens, including a woman.
The reporter documented the names of the detainees, and they are: 1- Wael Jamil -2- Muhammad Ali Bilal -3- Izzat Mukhtar 4- Ali Ham Zeno 5- and Layla Rashid Qrandal 6- Hikmat Mamish, while their fate is still unknown to this day.
The arrest comes days after other arrest campaigns carried out by the “Military Police” militia.
On 9/30/2020, ten Kurdish citizens were arrested in the Mobata / Maabatli district center, on charges of going out on guard patrols during the previous Autonomous Administration era in the region, among them are very old, according to Afrinpost sources.
At the time, the sources were able to document the names of nine of the detainees in that campaign, and they are:
1- Luqman Izzat Shaabu, 50 years old
2- Subhi Ali Memish, 60 years old
3- Muhammad Oskello is 60 years old
4- Aref Rashid Qarbouz, 75 years old
5- Muhammad Rashid Qarbouz, 80 years old
6- Sedki Mustafa Hambasho, 51 years old
7- Muhammad Ali Yusuf bin Yusuf, 54 years old
8- Ali Hussein Yusef, 57 years old
9 Adnan Muhammad Ali son of Muhammad Ali, 60 years old
10- His identity is not known yet.
On 9/21/2020, the Turkish occupation intelligence arrested of the Kurdish youth Muhammad Haji Hassan from his house in the Mobata sub-district / Maabatli center in the countryside of the occupied region in northern Syria, on charges of working for the former Autonomous Administration, and he was brought to the militia headquarters in the town and from then he was transferred to the district center.
The Ma’abatli district center, on the 27th of September, witnessed a campaign of arrests of four indigenous Kurds, who are: (1 – Farhan Qalandar, 2 – Shukri Jojo 3 – Hanan Bakr 4 – Ali Kalko)
On September 11-13, the same town witnessed the arrest of 7 Kurdish citizens, accused of dealing with the Autonomous Administration. They are: 1 – Ibrahim Khanjar, 2 – Ismat Khujah, 3 – Ahmad Mashkou, 4- Imad Khanjar son of Hussein (an employee in the local council) 5- Ibrahim Sidqi ( municipality worker in the local council) 6- Shukri Hamoto son of Hassan ( transportation employee in the local council) 7- Izzat from the village of Mirkan and he is the deputy director of education in the local council of the sub-district. The three are in detention, while the primary aim of the kidnapping is to financially extort the families of the kidnapped under several names (ransom, bail, or fine).
It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation forces and the Islamic militias affiliated with them have significantly intensified the implementation of arrest and kidnapping campaigns against the remaining indigenous Kurds, especially last August, when the number of detainees exceeded two hundred Kurdish citizens, as part of the Turkish intelligence plan by blackmailing them and depleting their financial and moral energies, they were forced to leave their homes in favor of the Islamic settlers loyal to the current Ankara government.
