Armed men of al-Nukhbah /the Elite Army militia stole the harvest of 2,200 olive trees belonging to Kurdish citizens in the village of Shekhutka, before the olive ripened, while a militia leader charged 100 settlers with stealing the olive season in the fields of the villages of Bulbula.
Afrinpost correspondent stated that the Turkish occupation and the Islamic militias affiliated to it continue to steal the olive season belonging to civilians in Afrin, and in this context the harvest of olive fields was stolen in several villages in Mobata / Maabatli district.
The reporter pointed out that members of al-Nukhbah/ the Elite Army militia looted the 1200 olive tree harvest owned by the Kurdish citizen Muhammad Sido, as well as a field of the citizen Aref Sido, which includes 600 trees, and a third field of the Kurdish citizen Khalil Sido, which includes 400 trees, and the three citizens are brothers from the people of the village of Shekhutka of Mobata / Moabatli district.
The correspondent added: The gunmen are still reaping the season and ravaging the fields and they are not finished yet, ”stressing that the olives are not ripened yet.
The reporter said that the gunmen have been reaping the season with the help of settlers in the village since Turkey occupied Afrin, pointing out that the militants do not allow landowners to access their properties for the third season in a row.
In a related context, Abu Talal, a leader in the Northern Suquor militia, ordered 100 settlers and settlers to steal the olive season in the villages of (Qizilbasha, Beleh and Kutana) of Bulbul district in Afrin countryside.
It is noteworthy that the militia gunmen impose exorbitant royalties on the people who reap the season themselves, while they invoked the request for property papers to deprive some of the people of their seasons. On the other hand, the militia elements took the initiative to steal the olives early and invaded hundreds of fields in the area and reaped the harvest. And they use incorrect methods of harvesting that do not take into account the integrity of the branches or the tree, and it is known that the timing and method followed in the harvesting process are important factors that have an impact on the quality of the oil produced and on the fruiting in the next season.
