Work dispute and a malicious accusation ends up with kidnapping a Kurdish citizen and demand for ransom

Afrinpost – Special

Militia bullying and slander are causing the kidnapping of a Kurd from Afrin, in the city of Azaz, to demand his family to pay a ransom, because of a malicious accusation, and the reason is a disagreement over issues related to joint work between them.

Afrinpost correspondent reported that the “Al-Shamiya Front Militia” kidnapped Rashid, from the village of Qarmatlaq in the Shih / Sheikh al-Hadid district in the city of Azaz, and demanded him to pay three thousand dollars in ransom for his release.

In the details of the incident, the reporter said that the citizen Rashid works in the wholesale potato trade, selling with a car, and he was in a business relationship with a person from the city of Azaz, but a disagreement occurred between them, so the person who was from Azaz took the initiative to send audio messages in which he insulted him so Rashid took the messages to file a complaint against him in the city of Azaz, and his wife was with him.

The reporter added: When citizen Rashid left the city of Azaz, he was brought down from the car at the first checkpoint and kidnapped with his wife, and accused of having a relationship with the Autonomous Administration, or as is common with the militias, “a relationship with the party.” It was later known that the other person was affiliated with the “Al-Shamiya Front” militia, and it seems that he had fabricated him a malicious accusation after the disagreement at work. However, the citizen’s wife, Rashid, was released two days after the kidnapping, and she was released, in order to secure the ransom money.

It is noteworthy that the citizen Rashid is 42 years old and has three daughters, and lives in Afrin in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood above the bazaar.
