Afrinpost – Special

The Afrinpost correspondent at the center of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria reported that the house of a Kurdish citizen in the old neighborhood of Afrin was stolen after they went to visit their relatives in the city.

The reporter noted that an amount of gold valued at 3 million Syrian pounds and 1800 Turkish liras was stolen, and the theft took place “in broad daylight” after the house was empty of family members for several hours, and they went out to visit their relatives in the city.

The correspondent added that the “Sultan Murad Division” militia are in control of the neighborhood, and it is likely that the thieves are among them.

There is information that includes the name of the owner of the house and other details that the “Afrinpost” reserves for reasons related to the safety of the family and the safety of its members, because the Muslim Brotherhood militants are not satisfied with doing heists only, but rather they follow the news and arrest anyone whose name is mentioned on media sites.

The correspondent of “Afrinpost” pointed out that the incidents of thefts in Afrin, carried out by settlers and militia militants, have not stopped since the Turkish occupation of Afrin, and in the current period, incidents of theft occur almost daily, and all of them pass without accountability.

In the news of the latest thefts that took place during these days, solar panels were stolen in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood, on Bilal Mosque Street in Sbaqa building, and in the building of Mr. Haidar.

The people of Afrin often do not submit complaints about it, due to their lack of confidence in the security services established by the occupation, and their fear of the retaliatory consequences of the complaint, and many petty thefts are not talked about and kept secret.
