With the approaching olive season, the Muslim Brotherhood militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation in the occupied Afrin region is following a new method to legitimize the theft of the season by guaranteeing the olive season at low prices, in addition to the direct theft by picking olives.

Afrinpost correspondent reported that some settlers brought in from the countryside of Homs in the villages of Sharra / Sharan are guaranteeing the olive fields owned by the people of Afrin, who were displaced from the Sultan Murad militia, with very small sums. For example, an olive field owned by the Kurdish citizen Rashid Hanan from the village is solid for four hundred dollars, and the field contains 160 olive trees. Another field owned by Rahman Hanan for five hundred dollars was included, and the field contains two hundred olive trees.

By making a simple calculation, it becomes evident that the guarantee for one tree is two and a half dollars for the tree, which is equivalent to five thousand Syrian pounds, while the price of the oil tank exceeds 75 thousand Syrian pounds. Thus, the amount of the guarantee is less than a quarter of the production value when it is acceptable, and it may not reach a tenth of the season value, and thus it cannot cover production costs.

It is reported that the Turkish occupation militias in the Bulbul / Bulbul sub-district imposed a royalty on the people for olive fields according to the number of trees, to be a new method for stealing the people, and the decision requires the people to renttheir fields for the militias, and the average amount of what a farmer can get is 5-8 thousand Syrian pounds according to the tree’s production, and if the farmer refuses to include his field, he will be prevented from harvesting the crop and be deprived of the entire season.
