Notables and leaders in the northern countryside of Aleppo see the necessity of launching a military operation against the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization, who call themselves the “Syrian National Army / Free Army”, which occupies the areas of Azaz, Jarablus and Afrin, and the necessity of ending the Turkish occupation in northern Syria.
Muhammad Dibo Naana, the mayor of the city of Huritan in the northern countryside of Aleppo and one of its notables, told North-Press Agency: “The practices of the armed factions in Afrin and Azaz cannot be tolerated. This factions form a strategic threat to Aleppo Governorate as a whole, countryside and city.
He continued: “It is imperative to launch military action, and it should not be limited to securing roads and a few towns of interest to Russia, but it must be comprehensive, including Afrin, Azaz, and even Al-Bab and Jarablus.”
He pointed out that the people of Huritan, Hayyan, Nubul, Zahra, and the displaced people of Afrin, who are in Tal Rifat and Fafin, will not enjoy safety in light of the presence of dozens of militant militias with the Salafi Muslim Brotherhood ideology at a stone’s throw from them.
He stressed that “Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham in Idlib is not intellectually different from the factions of the National Army in the northern countryside of Aleppo, and it is imperative to fight the organization in Idlib as well.”
With news of the launch of a military operation by the Syrian regime forces and its Russian ally in Idlib governorate, Abdul Karim Al-Ashqar, a retired colonel in the regime forces from the town of Al-Zahraa, said: “The military build-up on the border of Idlib predicted imminent military action.”
The operation aims to wrest Idlib from the grip of the Al-Nusra Front, expel Ankara and secure the M4 roads, which are of strategic importance to Russia and its military base on the Syrian coast, according to his words.
He added, “But the operation’s limited to Idlib means that Turkey is still holding the card of northern Syria, which it may highlight in the face of Russia and the Syrian government whenever it wants.” He indicated saying: “Therefore, the military operation must be comprehensive that puts in its accounts Afrin, which is a strategic point for any party that controls it. “.
With regard to the repeated shelling carried out by Ankara and the Muslim Brotherhood militias on Tel Rifaat and the vicinity of Nubul and Zahra, the retired colonel said that “it was a warning bell for the people in the northern Aleppo countryside, which is under the control of the government.”
Al-Ashqar considered the repeated bombing of the Muslim Brotherhood militia as a prelude to Turkish military action aimed at controlling the entire region, reaching the northern outskirts of Aleppo, he said.
And based on this, the Turks possess huge observation points that are like military bases within a stone’s throw from the regime forces in the vicinity of Aleppo, which are fortified points on ruling hills deep in the areas under the control of the regime.
The areas of al-Shahba are witnessing repeated bombardment by the Brotherhood militia, targeting civilians in the areas of Tal Rifat and Deir Jamal and the surrounding villages, which house the displaced from Afrin, as well as the vicinity of the towns of Nubl and Zahraa.
Abdo Akel Al-Bij, a commander in the Al-Quds Brigade affiliated with the Syrian regime, whose military forces are present in the Hayyan, Anadan and Bayyanoun areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo, said, “The preparations for the military operation in Idlib are nearing the end.”
He added that “most of the military forces in the various Syrian military formations, including the army and auxiliary forces, in addition to the forces of friends and allies, are ready on the outskirts of Idlib,” but he indicated that the anticipated battle will differ from its predecessors in terms of combat strength and the quality of weapons, as for the northern countryside of Aleppo, it is part of the military calculations. The Syrian regime forces are currently defensive.
“The forces present in the countryside of Aleppo will have their duty to confront any attempt by the Turkish factions to control Tal Rifaat and the vicinity of Nubl and Zahraa, and all that is rumored about a Russian-Turkish agreement to hand over Tal Rifaat in exchange for Idlib are just lies,” according to his words, and he said that they had received instructions to respond to the Turkish aggression resolutely and prevent any attempt at progress.”
With the news that the Syrian regime forces have launched a military operation from southern Idlib, with a Russian green light, Ankara’s anxiety increases, which continues to send military convoys to the Turkish points and camps in the “de-escalation” area in Idlib countryside.
