Afrinpost – Special
The Turkish occupation and the militants of the Islamic militia affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, who call themselves the “Syrian National Army / Free Army”, continue to use all means to target and violate the remaining Kurdish citizens in the occupied Afrin region, in order to push them to leave their homes in favor of the settlers loyal to Ankara.
One of the most prominent methods of deception followed by the Turkish occupation authorities is its call for Kurdish citizens who previously worked for “autonomous-administration” institutions, to surrender themselves to the civil court linked to the “civil police” militia, on the pretext of regularizing their status, and obtaining a document after paying bail money.
In this regard, one of the Kurdish citizens assured to “Afrinpost” that he believed these calls and directed himself to that court, in which he admitted that he had gone into guard duties within the framework of the Ceweri Protection Forces (which are non-combat forces), and he was detained for 3 days on pending investigation, at the end of the trial, he obtained a document proving that he was put on trial, after he paid him a bail of 800 TL, and then he was released.
The citizen added that, despite obtaining a document from the court, the patrols of the “Civil Police” militia were repeatedly coming to his house, and demanded him to pay a new bail of 400 TL.
He pointed out that since he surrendered to the occupation tribunal about a year and a half ago, he has paid four bails to date, expressing his fear that the militants will return once again to demand more, especially as his financial condition turns from bad to worse in light of the lack of job opportunities, which indicates that the opening the file of these trials is only an ambush to stalk the Kurds and extort them financially.
The occupation authorities are impoverishing Kurdish citizens, by letting the gunmen and settlers looting and carrying out robbery campaigns without supervision or accountability, in addition to imposing royalties and seals on all agricultural seasons that constitute the mainstay of the economy of the occupied region.
