Afrinpost – Special
“Afrinpost” obtained an exclusive statement from “Abu Omar Al-Adlabi”, leader of the “Democratic North Brigade”, who is part of the Syrian Democratic Forces, to talk about Turkish plans in Syria, and the recent situation in Idlib Governorate.
Abu Omar said, “Until the picture becomes clear and we understand the course of events, let us return a little to the beginning of this July. The Security Council’s corridors have witnessed fierce and successive rounds on the mechanism of introducing humanitarian aid to Syria for Syrians outside the Syrian regime’s control areas, and matters have reached the point of using the Russian-Chinese double veto, but ultimately, after days of negotiations, and on July 11, everyone voted in the Security Council on draft Resolution No. 2533, which stipulated the renewal of the mechanism for introducing cross-border humanitarian aid, but only through one crossing, which is the Bab al-Hawa crossing! Through Turkey for a period of one year, the resolution demanded the Secretary-General of the United Nations to submit his report at least every sixty days to the Security Council on the functioning of the mechanism.
Continuing: “The Russian-Turkish understandings brought the Syrian regime after the attack on the southern Hama and Idlib countryside, and began on April 26, 2019 and ended with the control of Khan Sheikhoun in August 2019, prior to the Turkish aggression against the northern and eastern regions of Syria on October 9, 2019, and then the second stage of the Turkish-Russian understanding, whose goal was the control of the Syrian regime and Russia behind it on the important and strategic international road of Aleppo – Damascus, M5, and that process ended with control of the northern, western, and southern countryside of Aleppo, the eastern countryside of Idlib, the cities of Saraqib, Ma`rat al-Numan, Hass, Kafroumah, and Muhtarma, all the way to Kafr Nabl, the operations resulted in the displacement of about 1.2 million civilians, half of them children, and that military operation ended after the Erdogan-Putin understandings on March 5, 2020, which took place in the Russian capital, Moscow.
Adding: With the arrival of the Syrian regime to the east of the town of Atarib, it is within a stone’s throw from the border Bab al-Hawa, and the Syrian regime forces and its allies stationed east of the countryside are about 14 km away from the Sarmda roundabout, which is the border transportation hub, and from which the roads of the camps and the Bab al-Hawa crossing are branched, it connects Idlib with the occupied areas of Afrin and the northern countryside of Aleppo.
Noting that, if Russia decides to start a new operation, it is likely that it will follow the same tactic that was followed in the recent battles, which is to avoid direct attacks on cities and villages and circumvent them, and let them fall automatically due to the fear of the mercenary opposition factions of their blockade.
“With the opposition factions massing their forces in the vicinity of Jabal Al-Zawiya and the M4 road, it is not unlikely that Russia will conduct a major detour over the rest of Idlib province from the western Aleppo countryside axis above, between Atarib and Darat Azza, which is only 15 km long, so that any attack here will lead to the Syrian regime’s practical progress toward the border gate of passion, and here we understand the secret behind Russia’s insistence on the introduction of humanitarian aid to Syria through Bab al-Hawa only. ”
Abu Omar says that this appears to be the goal of Russia, which was previously agreed upon with Turkey, as evidenced by the context of the current developments. As for the Bab Al-Salama crossing, it is currently far from deals, and it is the artery of Turkey to Syria to provide its mercenaries with the means to stay and live. ”
As for the Al-Nusra Front, Abu Omar explains that it “exists where the interest of the Turkish occupation state requires it, and it is transmitted and distributed as it draws and requests from the Turkish intelligence services only. These crowds disappeared and the territories were handed over to the Syrian regime and its supporters with Turkish decision and coordination with them.
He said: “Therefore we can say conclusively and clearly that the Al-Nusra Front exists where Turkey’s interest is required, and it is a Turkish Trojan horse.”
Abu Omar says to “Afrinpost”: “We communicate with our people in Idlib and its countryside permanently and continuously, and they are currently in the most severe cases of fear and terror, but not only from air or artillery shelling, but their true terror from the suspicious deals that Turkey holds at the expense of their blood and torments. And displacing them, their children and women, in an effort to pursue the project of demographic change that the muslim Brotherhood government seeks to revive the dead Ottoman caliphate project that Erdogan dreams about.
He stated that, “The previous Turkish deals exposed the slander and sensitivity of what Erdogan and his party do towards the Syrians, from Ras Al-Ain to east to Idlib in the west, with nothing except the Sultan’s illusion and the hatred of his corrupt dreams, in which Erdogan claimed that he would pray at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus for years; he prayed at the Hagia Sophia Church in Istanbul days ago! ”
