Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood, known as the “Syrian National Army / Free Army” have burned fields planted with seasonal crops, especially wheat and barley, in addition to deliberate burning of forests, especially after the military occupation of the Kurdish region of Afrin in March 2018.
In the context, the Islamic militia set fire to the olive trees belonging to the people of the village of “Burj Al-Qas” and “Kalouteh” in the district of Shirawa in the countryside of Afrin, which resulted in burning more than 3000 olive trees in addition to burning the forest lands.
According to Afrinpost correspondent, the trees that were burned belong to each of the citizens (Najib Hamada, Ali Hamada, Ismat Hamada, and Jalal Hamada) from “Burj Al-Qas” in addition to the citizens of the village of Kaloute, who are both (Hassan Ali, Ali Khadro and Hassan Ratlo).
In the context, the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation army cut down olive trees in the village of “Qarqina / Qarqin” in the “Mobata / Ma’batli” district, and Afrinpost correspondent in the district explained that the “Al-Hamzeh squad” militia cut more than 300 olive trees belonging to kurdish citizens from the people of that village.
A source from inside Afrin had told “Afrinpost” yesterday, Tuesday, that the Turkish occupation and its armed militia militants had set fire to Mount Hawar near the village of “Dikeh” in Raju district of Afrin, and added “Turkey aims to change even the nature of Afrin in light of the continued demographic change in this region that Turkey has occupied for more than two years”.
The Turkish occupation and its militias set fire to the mountain two days ago as well, where forest trees were burned, and the mountain is one of the famous landmarks of the Afrin Mountains.
