Militants of the Islamic militia known as the “National Army”, which is affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood and their settlers, continue to cut trees from forests and fields throughout the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, and trade their logs in light of the increasing demand for them in the areas under Turkish occupation in northwestern Syria .

In this context, “Afrinpost” reporter in Afrin center, said that the Islamic militias and settlers have resumed cutting the remaining trees of Mahmudiyah in the city of Afrin, where they sell firewood in a store on the Maratah – Afrin road.

The correspondent pointed out that the Islamic militia and settlers located in Afrin, Al-Mahmoudiya forest was transformed into barren land and a camp was built there, noting that the Islamic militia and settlers are uprooting trees from the roots, starting from Eid Al-Fitr.

The reporter also added that “the militia and their settlers stopped cutting during the month of Ramadan because it is forbidden” (according to their claim, while these destroyed hundreds of thousands of trees in Afrin), noting that firewood is being sold in several places, one of which is located on the Maratah – Afrin road. .

The occupied Kurdish region witnesses the daily logging of forests and olive trees by the Islamic militia and their settlers, and Afrinpost correspondents indicated in previous times, that the occupation militias cut down the forest trees as well as the olive trees belonging to Afrin diaspora, and collect firewood in centers on the outskirts of villages, with the aim of selling and exporting the rest to Turkey.
