Afrinpost – Special

The Turkish occupation intelligence arrested a number of Kurdish teachers working for the occupation institutions in the villages of the Raju district, on charges of working previously, with the autonomous-administration institutions, and they were taken to an unknown destination.

The arrest took place on the twentieth of June, and the arrested teachers were: “Hourik Trash from the village of “ Kura”,“ Ali Hussein Khashman ”from the village of “ Holilo”, “ Rodin Riyad Mustafa ”from the village of“ Masaka ”, and“ Ibrahim Shukri Ali” From the village of “Dumliya”.

The human rights organization in Afrin stated that the arrested teachers from the education sector, which is run by the director of Turkish education in Hatay / Antakya state, were dismissed from work days before their arrest.

The recent dismiss and detention operations can be traced back to a previous agreement between the Occupation Council and its armed men, as “Afrinpost” was informed from its sources on the eighteenth of June, that the so-called (Local Council of Afrin) had held a meeting with the leaders of the occupation militias (the army National – Military Police – Civil Police – Turkish Intelligence).

It resulted in a pledge by the Syrian National Army militia not to interfere in civilian matters, provided that the first party provides for the dismissing all Kurdish employees in its institutions, especially those who previously worked in former “autonomous-administration” institutions established by the indigenous Afrin Kurds during the years from 2014 to 2018.

The sources confirmed at the time, that the head of the Occupation Council, called “Muhammad Saeed Suleiman,” pledged at the meeting to dismiss all Kurdish employees who previously worked for the previous “autonomous-administration”, within a specified period of “two months” from the date of the end of the meeting.
